The Fire Arts Center aims to provide a home for special art forms involving fire. Peggy Dickinson, who was inspired by her interest in glass and fire, saw a need to provide local groups with a place to practice this laborious process. To provide this space, she started by searching for a space in her community where these artists could gather. She realized that she wanted to support a growing group of local artists who were interested in exploring new forms of art.
The Fire Arts Center offers classes and memberships in ceramics and fused glass. The community-centered studios offer a variety of art forms and encourage people of all levels to take part in these creative pursuits. Members of the organization are professional artists who are willing to share their technical expertise and encourage others to learn as much as possible. The center is run by a combination of studio memberships, class fees, and gallery sales, and donations.
